U.S. stock indexes look set to begin the new week on a positive note following a successful week, which saw stocks gain more than 2 percent.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 0.09 percent while futures on the S&P 500 were up 0.09 percent and those on the Nasdaq were up 0.19 percent. On Thursday, the Dow slipped 0.1 percent while the S&P 500 gained 0.14 percent and the Nasdaq rose 0.23 percent.

Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL), Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS), Kimberly Clark Corp (NYSE:KMB) and SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE:STI) are among the companies expected to report quarterly results before the markets open. Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is among those scheduled to announce earnings after market hours.
In Europe, Australia and Hong Kong, markets were closed for Easter Monday. Japan's Nikkei-225 ended the day nearly flat, down 0.03 percent, while the Shanghai Composite fell 1.52 percent. South Korea’s Kospi ended the day down 0.25 percent, while India's BSE Sensex rose 0.6 percent.
