The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 126 points higher Tuesday to 12,581 -- boosted by sentiment that a political coalition in Greece may emerge to keep the debt-laden country in the euro zone.

The Nasdaq closed up 33 points to 2,871 and the S&P 500 finished 15 points higher to 1,332.

Oil fell 8 cents to $90.80 per barrel, and gold fell $3 to $1,557 per ounce.

The euro continued to weaken versus the U.S. dollar, falling another 0.47 cents to $1.2495.

The 10-year U.S. Treasury note was at 1.75%.
