U.S. stock indexes fluctuated throughout today’s session as they declined in red territories at closing, whereas better than expected earnings from Walgreen Co. and the biggest gain in home prices in four years boosted consumer shares, however, a worse than expected confidence as reported by the U.S. Conference Board and a stronger dollar sent energy shares down as oil prices dropped on fears over the outlook for the U.S. economy.
