FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - U.S. markets rose sharply on Monday after losing ground in the last three sessions. The Dow Jones rose 1.29% to 9789, it largest point increase in more than a month. The Nasdaq jumped 1.90%. Commodities also rose with crude-oil rising for the first time after four days.

Dollar consolidate gains across the board

Despite suffering a pulled back after the opening bell at Wall Street, Greenback is holding gains against the European currencies. EUR/USD currently is trading around 1.4600, which is 0.70% below today's opening price. GBP/USD is moving in ranges after Cable failed to hold above 1.5900. Dollar is still up for the day against the Pound despite being far from intra-day low. Against the Yen, Dollar failed to rally to the upside after breaking above 89.70. USD/JPY is now a few pips above the opening price, after falling earlier to 88.20, posting a fresh 8-month low.
