The U.S. women's basketball team continued to dominate the field at the London Olympics with another thumping, as the Americans breezed by China on Sunday, 114-66.

The 114 points tied the Olympic record for most points, and the victory extended the U.S.'s winning streak to 38 games heading into the knockout phase.

While the U.S. shot 62.7 percent from the field, China shot just 41.4 percent. The American had 14 steals compared to four from China.

Diana Taurasi led the U.S. with 22 points.

"Sometimes you play a game and things are off a little bit, but today I felt we were playing a little bit better. We were in a little bit better of a flow and that carried on for 40 minutes," she said.

Angel McCoughtry hit all eight of her shots for 16 points, while grabbing six rebounds. The Louisville star also dished out six assists and recorded five steals.

"Overall speaking, the U.S. is the top of the world," said China coach Sun Fengwu, through an interpreter.

The U.S. face Canada next.on Tuesday.
