The Return Of The High-Top: Iman Shumpert Returns In Knicks London Win
It wasn't pretty, not by a long shot. The International Series between the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons had made this the Number One ticket in town. London's O2 Arena had been sold out for weeks, this is only the third regular season game to be played outside the U.S and it would give a good indication as to how the sport is growing in the U.K and globally. Although if the Olympics were anything to go by, the demand for high-quality basketball in this country is exceptionally high. The U.S Basketball team took the Olympics by storm, playing to sell-out crowds at every game. They captivated the crowd with their high-paced offense and all-world team that they assembled. They wanted more.. The Knicks came into this game with indifferent form, they did win their last game before heading over the pond, a home victory against the New Orleans Hornets. Injuries have ravaged them of late, which is to be expected given the age of some of the members of the team. This was the perfect time to get away from the media glare in New York and relax for a few days in an unfamiliar surroundings.

Road To Redemption: Carl Froch vs Mikkel Kessler II Confirmed For May 2013.
Yesterdays announcement that the Super-Middleweight unification fight between Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler has been signed and sealed had every boxing fan salivating at the prospect. If there first fight is anything to go by, this should be a spectacular occasion for British and World Boxing. An early candidate for fight of the year without question. They have met once before, in April 2010 in the Super-Six competition which was won by American superstar Andre Ward. It was a war in every sense of the word. Both fighters have similar styles, heavy hitters who leave themselves open at times to counter punches. The similarity in styles made for a spectacular and fascinating encounter.

The Miracle At Mile-High: Ray Lewis Makes Father Time Wait For One More Week.
It should hardly have come as a surprise should it? The Ravens, down and out, oxygen deprived and all but done for the year at Mile High Stadium in Denver, managed to pull-off one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history in Double-Overtime to prolong the career of Hall of Fame certainty Ray Lewis. For one more week at least. Ray Lewis is the Baltimore Ravens. He epitomises everything that is good about the franchise. He is a role model and an inspiration, not just to the rookies he takes under his wing, but to the Seasoned Veterans that Lewis has guided throughout his 17 year tenure as the team's cornerstone and Leader. When he announced that this would be his last season in the NFL shortly before the Playoffs began, people were quick in delivering Lewis' eulogy of a great NFL career as if it was already over. We should have known better.

Trouble In Paradise: Are The New York Knicks About To De-Rail?
After a very promising start the wheels seem to be coming off a little bit for the New York Knicks. Whilst the drop in form isn't considered critical yet, there are some signs that are concerning. Injuries and lack of discipline seem to be costing the Knicks, the two things people were fearful of before the season began. It's well documented that this is the oldest team in the NBA. With that comes the inevitable questions of whether a team compiled of mostly thirty-somethings can sustain an 82 game season without some injury problems along the way. It started off reasonably well, the experience of the older statesmen in the Knicks team were providing a calming influence. In particular Jason Kidd, who has allowed Carmelo Anthony to flourish by providing the team with leadership and taking some of the responsibility off Anthony. Rasheed Wallace also provided the Knicks with a valuable contribution off the bench, especially when you consider he's been out of the game for so long. He's provided good rebounding and 3 point shooting off the bench, along with solid defence we've come to expect from Sheed.

Mike Shanahan Doubles Down And Loses with RG3

When Robert Griffin's knee collapsed beneath him during last nights NFC Wildcard game, the entire state of Washington held it's breath. The future of the franchise, the man who has transformed them from NFC East bottom-feeders to division winners in one season, was on the turf in agony and there was nothing anybody could do about it. Not then, at least. It was evident last weekend at Dallas in their crucial title decider that RG3 was not at one hundred percent.

His runs were limited and he was sporting an obvious limp. However, he managed to hold it together as the Redskins ran all over the Cowboys to claim a playoff spot. All week long the media speculated about the health of Griffin. He stated on more than one occasion he felt better than he had done the previous week and the knee was healthy enough for him to have a serious impact on proceedings on Sunday.
