Roberto Mancini and Arsene Wenger have a big task on their hands on Super Sunday. We take a look at other fixtures of the weekend
Swansea vs Newcastle
Newcastle are almost assured of a Europa League spot, but it remains to be seen whether they can go one better and get a Champions League spot. But one thing for sure this season has been a roaring success for Magpies. Same can be said for Swansea who have done exceedingly well for a newly promoted side. Overall an exciting match in prospect.
Newcastle should collect three points and continue their good run.
Sunderland vs Tottenham Hotspur
The Black Cats were outstanding at the Etihad stadium last week having dealt a blow to title contenders Man City. Spurs seem to get their campaign on track with a victory last week. But their recent away form has seen them collect only 2 of the possible 15 points. This fixture has some goals in it with both sides playing free flowing attacking football.
Spurs to prevail in a tight finish.
Bolton vs Fulham
Sherlock Homes and Dr. Watson would have taken ages to figure out..........
Had Christopher Nolan made a movie on it he would have produced another blockbuster after Inception and Batman series but what about the climax...........
After watching this week's matches only one thing comes to mind.
What Just Happened............
After 31 rounds of matches the league table has still not revealed itself.
In a league of Twenty Teams there are plenty of mini battles being played
Battle for the Champions of England
For the title it's Manchester City who are locked in battle with their glorious neighbors Manchester United. Both sides refuse to take upper hand in the title race and allow their rival to still be in the race.30th April will be the day when these 2 face each other but before that there is a lot more football to be played. United lead the race with 5 points but with away game to Man City coming up, a blip could bring City back into reckoning.
Race for the Champions League Spot
Aston Villa vs Chelsea
As Sir Alex Ferguson would have called it, Chelsea are fast approaching a squeaky bum time. After matches against the likes of Villa and Wigan, Chelsea would approach a run of games which could make or break their season. A return to the league may mark the return of the likes of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. Chelsea to post a victory at Villa Park.
Everton vs West Brom
The Toffees have a chance to surpass their Merseyside rivals should they come up trumps against a resurgent West Brom side. Everton to overcome the West Brom challenge in this one.
Fulham vs Norwich
Fulham at home have been a completely different side. Martin Jol's men would like to end the run of three defeats. On the other hand Norwich city are just one short of the 40 point magical figure which should safeguard them against relegation. There could be some late goals in this fixture with Fulham registering a win.
Man City vs Sunderland
A preview to the games played this weekend in English Premier League with predictions to where this week's game are headed.
Who gets closer to the title, who gets relegated, who stays in the Champions League?
Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur
2 sides struggling for the elusive fourth Champions League spot. Both sides have a point to prove after the mid-week disappointments. Chelsea on their home turf would like to register a win and mount a challenge for the fourth spot. Spurs on the other hand would like to get themselves out of a slump that has seen them with just 1 win in last 5 games. Expecting Chelsea to overcome Spurs challenge.
Bolton vs Blackburn Rovers
It will be difficult for Bolton players to lift themselves up after agonizing events of last week's FA cup tie. Blackburn has put up a decent string of results to lift them out of relegation. Blackburn to continue their recent revival.
Norwich City vs Wolves
Manchester City piled up the pressure on their famous neighbors with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Eastlands.
The game started with City attacking at a blistering pace but the momentum dried out slowly as the half progressed. The main threat came from Samir Nasri who had a standout chance to score but was denied by the crossbar.Mario Balotelli also wasted a glorious opportunity to put Man City in lead when he shot wide of the post after having the hard work of beating the defenders done. Manchester City's play maker David Silva was more subdued and had little to offer. On the other hand his compatriot Fernando Torres looked livelier after his return to the scoring sheet in the last week's FA cup. A lively start to the match but subsided gradually as the first half came to an end.
