The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported Thursday a magnitude 6.0 earthquake rocked coastal North California, no damage report.

The quake struck at 12:20 p.m. local time about 55km northwest of Petrolia and nearly 80km from Eureka, according to the USGS.

Local officials and residents reported feeling a rolling sensation that caused items to fall from walls and shelves.

A magnitude 6.5 quake struck the same region on January 9 that caused more than $40 million in damage.
