“Utopia” is a new reality TV show from Fox that allows contestants to create their own perfect world. There is no prize involved. If they win, they get the pride of saying they created their own Utopia. They spend a year in a remote location and attempt to build a new society together, but they can be voted out. Viewers will be using Passport, an app that allows them to vote cast members off the show. “Utopia” will also be replacing cast members as they are eliminated. All contestants will be trying to lead a perfect world. However the twist is that they all have conflicting views of what the perfect society should be. Meet the first 14 contestants in the Sept. 7 premiere below:
Kristen, 23, is from Jamestown, NY. She introduced herself as an entrepreneur and “master manipulator.”
Rhonda, 48, is from Oceanside, CA. The entrepreneur considers herself an activist for the Tea Party and wants to bring similar values to "Utopia."
Jonathan, 44, is from Church Hill, TN. The pastor will be bringing Christian beliefs to "Utopia."
Bri, 20, is from Westminster, CA. She is a veterinary aide, but her strong belief in animal rights might make some parts of "Utopia" difficult for her. However, her experience growing up on a farm will give her a lot of skills that others don’t have.
Chris, 25, is from Cary, NC. He is a glass blower and a chili farmer. He is a guitar player whose biggest vice is women. He also hates “bible bangers.”
Dedeker, 26 is from L.A. She is involved in a polyamorous relationship and occasionally likes to be nude. The model’s free spirit might be a little too free for some of "Utopia’s" residents.
Hex, 25, is from Detroit, MI. She is unemployed, but she can rely on her hunting skills in "Utopia." She thinks money, power and religion are unnecessary in "Utopia."
Amanda, 30, is from Seattle, WA. She is in an open relationship and pregnant. The behavioral specialist wants to keep her pregnancy a secret as long as possible.
Josh, 36, is from Salt Lake City, UT. The general contractor claims that women are one of his biggest vices.
Aaron, 26, is from Jackson, MS. He is a chef who wants Utopia to be free from class division.
Mike, 33, is from New York City. The associate attorney wants to run "Utopia" rather than work with the people in "Utopia."
Nikki, 29, is from New York City. The yoga instructor and holistic doctor is bringing a laid back approach to "Utopia." She just wants everyone to be respectful.
Red, 42, is from Cecilia, KY. The handyman and farmer might have the skillset to survive in a remote location, but he might not be able to deal with the other contestants. He can’t stand stupid or lazy people.
Bella, 45, is from Griffin, GA. She is a real estate entrepreneur, “doomsday prepper” and a naked yoga enthusiast. She is single and apparently “open to the possibility of having a child in Utopia.”
Rob, 38, is from NJ. He is a security programmer who can hunt and fish. He wants to show the world what a true American is, but he knows he’ll be surrounded by “liberals, hippies, kumbayahs, and hairy-legged broads.”
"Utopia" will premiere at a special time on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox. The show will regularly air on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. EDT. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments section below.
