Season 4 of “The Vampire Diaries” may have concluded with Damon and Elena living happily ever after, but season 5 is definitely turning out to be troublesome for the couple. After learning that versions of Elena and Stefan have been finding each other for centuries, the latest challenge for Delena is memory-free Stefan.

Episode 4, “For Whom The Bell Tolls,” will find Stefan with amnesia after Tessa/Qetsiyah’s binding spell – and based on a sneak peek video clip, Damon and Elena have different ideas for helping the youngest Salvatore brother.

In the first clip, Damon and Stefan can be seen hanging out at the Mystic Falls Grill. Damon’s supposed to be helping Stefan remember his past, but instead Elena finds the pair throwing back shots.

“Remind me of your name again?” Stefan says to Elena, catching her off guard.

“You haven’t told him about me?” she questions Damon. “Two hundred years is a long time,” he responds.

Elena has caused Stefan a lot of heartache over the past few years. So did Damon not tell his brother about Elena in an effort to protect him? Or was Damon hoping to get a fresh start with Elena?

The second video clip from “For Whom The Bell Tolls” shows Matt confiding in Jeremy about his blackouts. Explaining that he woke up covered in mud with a crazy-looking knife, Jeremy initially believes that Matt could be suffering from blackouts caused by the Gilbert ring. But Matt thinks it’s something else due to Silas not being able to use mind control on him. Setting up cameras in his house in an effort to help figure out how he’s losing time, Matt begs Jeremy for Bonnie’s help.

Jeremy tells Matt that Bonnie’s in D.C. with her mom, but Matt doesn’t buy it. “So she can’t pick up?” he asks angrily. “I sent her like 300 emails this summer and she writes back twice. Did I do something to piss her off?” Jeremy can’t answer Matt without revealing Bonnie’s secret, though, and instead abruptly leaves … hopefully to convince Bonnie to let him tell everyone that she’s dead.

Episode 4 of “The Vampire Diaries” airs on the CW on Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT. Watch the sneak peek clips below and let us know what you think will happen in “For Whom The Bell Tolls.”
