Vampire Diaries
"The Vampire Diaries" premieres on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. CW

Trouble seems to love Damon, Elena and the rest of the “Vampire Diaries” gang. The synopsis for episode 2 of the hit CW series has leaked online and season 5 is proving to be on fire.

As we previously reported, the premiere episode will pick up at the end of the summer with Elena and Caroline heading off to Whitmore College for their freshman year. Things are looking up for Elena, who finally seems to be OK with being a vampire, and is not only happy to have her brother Jeremy back, but relishing in her “passionate relationship” with Damon.

But in true “Vampire Diaries” fashion some trouble will unfold. Episode 1, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” will find Katherine returning to town and Jeremy encountering some trouble at school after everyone believed him to be dead. Meanwhile no one knows that Bonnie was killed or that Stefan is at the bottom of the lake while Silas impersonates him.

So, how will episode 2 follow up? “True Lies” will find Damon finally realizing that Stefan is missing. Not wanting to tell Elena, he’s forced to turn to Sheriff Forbes for help in finding his brother. Elena has her own problems at school. When a murder happens on campus, Elena and Caroline decide to take matters into their own hands on finding out who is trying to cover up the death. Their detective work leads them to fellow Whitmore student Jesse, who “gives Elena some intriguing information about Professor Wes Maxfield.”

Back in Mystic Falls, Jeremy is struggling to return to his old life after dying in season 4. But what’s not helping him is the fact that he’s still the only one that can see or talk to Bonnie. And unfortunately for him, Bonnie is bent on keeping the fact that she sacrificed her own life for his a secret.

As Damon continues his search for Stefan he learns that Silas is looking for Katherine. Asking Matt and Jeremy to keep the new human out of sight, the situation “quickly spirals out of control.”

And that’s not their only problem -- newcomer Nadia “uses violence to make a point about her own agenda.”

“The Vampire Diaries” season 5 premieres on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. You can catch episode 2 on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m.
