WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Do NOT continue reading unless you want to find out some major plot points from episode 10 of “The Vampire Diaries.”

The midseason finale of “The Vampire Diaries” is finally here. Fans of the hit CW series may lament that the Mystic Falls crew is taking a break for a few weeks, but the good news is that the episode, “Fifty Shades of Grayson,” will be mind-blowing and action-packed.

We’re breaking down the top five things you need to know about episode 10, which is airing on the CW on Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.

Father Gilbert

The episode is called “Fifty Shades of Grayson” for a reason – viewers will learn more about Elena and Jeremy’s father, Grayson Gilbert.

“She’s kind of putting it together and it will emerge as, ‘Oh, I thought that was one thing and looking through it in a different lens my childhood was actually different than I lived it,’” executive producer Caroline Dries told TV Guide of Elena learning about her father’s past. “We get to learn more about Grayson’s backstory.”

Enzo + Damon

“Vampire Diaries” viewers learned that Enzo didn’t die in the fire as Damon initially thought. The Augustine vampire will find himself chained up next to Elena, where he will eventually come face-to-face with his old friend who betrayed him.

It’s uncertain how their first encounter will go, but Dries promised Zap2it that their relationship has “a lot of complicated layers to it” – mainly because Damon is Enzo’s only friend. “Enzo becomes the devil on Damon’s shoulder and is the voice of temptation,” she explained to TV Guide. “So he does become a bit of a villain.”

Statherine/ Kathan

Move over Stelena! At the end of episode 9 Stefan found himself in a hot lip lock with Katherine. Caroline Forbes overheard the pair getting frisky, and the next two episodes will cover the rest of the gang finding out about the hookup and how Stefan feels about Katherine.

Who Killed Megan?

Who is the Augustine vampire? Viewers will remember that at the beginning of season 5 it was revealed that the person behind Megan’s death was not just any vampire – but the Augustine vampire. The series will finally get around to answering who the mystery killer is in episode 10.

A Major Death

According to Dries, fans are “also going to see a character death” in the midseason finale.

“One of the main characters,” she revealed to Zap2it. “That’s a biggie.”

The EP already revealed that Bonnie, Jeremy and Caroline will not be in the midseason finale and will resurface in episode 11 … so unfortunately that leaves Katherine, Elena, Stefan and Damon in the death pool. (We’re leaving out Tyler since he has been M.I.A. for ages.)
