Vampire Diaries
Bonnie and Jeremy's relationship is on thin ice in episode 18 of "The Vampire Diaries." CW

The Mystic Falls gang can’t seem to catch a break. Trouble is brewing on “The Vampire Diaries” and a new sneak peek video from episode 18 teases that fans should be very worried.

The latest clip to be released from “Resident Evil” gives viewers a look at Bonnie and Jeremy – and their relationship is definitely on the rocks. In the video Bonnie can be seen showing up at the old Lockwood mansion to talk with Jeremy, who decided to move in with Matt and Tyler after Elena’s fallout with Damon. And while earlier this season the two wanted nothing more than to be with each other, Jeremy appears to be feeling the opposite.

Ignoring the fact that Jeremy is acting weird, Bonnie confides in him that she needs his help.

“I think something is going on on The Other Side,” she reveals to her on-and-off again boyfriend. “My Grams says the witches are worried someone got out. And I thought since you could see ghosts …”

But Bonnie doesn’t get a chance to finish asking Jeremy for help – because she’s interrupted by Liv.

“Liv’s here?” Bonnie questions Jeremy. “Are you kidding me?”

Liv interjects that it’s “not what it looks like,” but the damage is already done. Jeremy refuses to tell Bonnie what the deal is and practically pushes her out of the door.

“I’m sorry,” he tells Bonnie. “We have this handled. I just need you to trust me. Okay?”

Bonnie doesn’t answer, instead choosing to silently walk out the door.

The sneak peek clip is shocking for two reasons – first off for Jeremy’s obvious betrayal of Bonnie … after she sacrificed her own life for him. But the real jaw dropper is that there is a potential ghostly threat lurking around town. While Bonnie and the witches on The Other Side don’t know who got loose, there are a couple of theories floating around.

Based on episode 17, a safe bet would be that the loose spirit is the mysterious Travelers leader, Markos. “Vampire Diaries” fans will remember that the Travelers sacrificed themselves at the end of the episode, knocking Bonnie unconscious after using her to get to The Other Side. While Bonnie was passed out on the floor, a spirit appeared to rise from her body … and took on the form of Markos.

Another theory is that the ghost hanging out in Mystic Falls is a fallen fan favorite. As we previously reported, there are rumors circulating about not only the return of Original vampire Kol, but of Damon’s old drinking buddy, Alaric.
