The sixth season of “The Vampire Diaries” has introduced a whole new batch of characters – and trouble – and the problems don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Episode 4 of the hit CW series ended on a pretty twisted note, and the synopsis for episode 5, titled “The World Has Turned and Left Me Here,” teases that things will only get more complicated.
According to the episode 5 synopsis, Elena (Nina Dobrev) will be in full fun-mode as Whitmore College homecoming approaches. With her memories of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) still hidden away, the young vampire will invite her classmate Liam (Marco James) to “attend a party at the corn maze with her.” “Vampire Diaries” viewers met Liam in episode 3 when Elena tried to set him up with Caroline (Candice Accola), but as fans saw, Liam was more interested in getting to know Elena than her friend.
Speaking of Caroline, the usually school-spirit-loving blonde will put the homecoming festivities on the backburner when Stefan (Paul Wesley) returns. But Stefan won’t be alone – he’ll arrive with Ivy (Emily Chang) aka the “mess created by Enzo" (Michael Malarkey). Damon’s evil best friend snapped Stefan’s new girlfriend’s neck in episode 2, but what viewers didn’t realize is that he slipped her his blood beforehand. Stefan sought revenge for Ivy’s death and was shocked when she resurfaced at the end of episode 4.
Meanwhile, Alaric (Matt Davis) will try to be more social. However that will backfire when a “devastating accident quickly leaves him and Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) rushing to save lives.” Will Alaric be able to help? Or will his uneasiness around blood cause him to lose his cool?
Alaric won’t be the only one at risk in episode 5 of “The Vampire Diaries.” Tyler (Michael Trevino) will find himself in a “dangerous position when his werewolf curse is put to the test.”
As for Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon? The pair will “make an important discovery that affects their quest to get back home.”
Season 6 episode 5 of “The Vampire Diaries” will air on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. EDT.
