Actor Zach Roerig has to deal with a lot of drama on-screen as human Matt Donovan in “The Vampire Diaries.” Now the CW star has found himself in a bit of off-screen drama as he’s seeking custody of his 2-year-old daughter, whose mother, Alanna Turner, incarcerated.

Roerig, 28, has generally kept his personal life out of the news, briefly making headlines in May 2012 when he split from “Vampire Diaries” co-star Candice Accola. Now the actor is turning heads thanks to recently filed legal docs.

According to TMZ, Roerig is asking a Georgia court to grant him full custody of his 2-year-old daughter, as well as child support from his baby momma. The actor claims that Alanna Turner has been arrested “at least three times” and is currently incarcerated after pleading guilty to “various crimes.” (It’s speculated that this is Alanna Turner’s mugshot, Twitter page and Facebook.)

Zach Roerig just wrapped up filming Sean McNamara’s civil war film, “Field of Lost Shoes.” He’s set to return to the Atlanta set of “The Vampire Diaries” to begin shooting the show’s fifth season. Roerig’s character, Matt, will find himself traveling through Prague with original vampire Rebekah (Claire Holt) in the season premiere.
