Vampire Weekend Unveil New Songs At NYC's Roseland Ballroom [PHOTOS, VIDEOS, SET LIST]

The Roseland Ballroom was packed with a wide variety of music-lovers Sunday night, when Vampire Weekend rocked New York City for the second time in as many months.

The sold-out show brought out bearded, bespectacled hipsters; boat-shoe-wearing jocks; gray-coifed, well-dressed professionals; and of course girls of every age and style. And, as part of Tribeca Film Festival's #amexUNSTAGED series, it attracted members of the glitterati ranging from the evening's host and livestream director Steve Buscemi to actors Zach Galifianakis, Jonah Hill and Jude Law and even beloved MTV News favorite John Norris.

They had all gathered to see a band that has carved out a unique space for itself in the modern sonicsphere. They're part garage rock, part Paul Simon impression, part African drum-core.

But Vampire Weekend at their roots are all fun, and though some of the crowd had every last line of their literary lyrics memorized, a good contingent was likely seeing them for the first time, as the line for the guest list snaked as long out the front of the Roseland as the one for will call.

The quartet kept the crowd on its feet -- and in the air -- throughout its lengthy 19-song set, whipping the audience into a frenzy with hits like "Oxford Comma," "Cousins" and "Holiday," and treating the lucky attendees to several tracks off their forthcoming album, "Modern Vampires of the City."

The highlight of the evening for die-hard Vampire Weekend fans was their unveiling of two new songs off "Modern Vampires," namely the haunting, dreamy, piano tune "Obvious Bicycle" and the organ-and-guitar-driven, lilting "Everlasting Arms."

The stage was sparse for the first portion of the concert, with nothing but a silver mirror and tall faux Greek columns adorning the stage. But the mirror revealed itself to be a screen used to display various trippy graphics, and midway through the performance the curtain at the rear dropped away and a wallpaper-like wall painted with pink-hued roses revealed itself to gasps and cheers from the audience.

The night was a light-hearted one, as any visit to the world of Vampire Weekend tends to be, but it was satisfying and joyous, and no one left the Roseland without a smile on their face.
