Vanessa White is single again. The former “The Saturdays” member has just split from her boyfriend of six years, Gary Salter.

A source told Daily Mail that White and Salter ended things amicably. “It was a hard decision for them to make, but they agreed it would be the best thing to do, in order to take time out and figure things out,” said the insider. “They’re still good friends.”

The couple decided to call it quits due to their conflicting work schedules. White is embarking her solo career while Salter is also occupied with his being a menswear stylist.

White took the backseat when she was in the band. However, the singer is now determined to come into her own and wants to devote her time and attention in her music and image as a solo artist.

Both were reportedly upset about their split, but they believe that it’s the best for them. At the time, White is already working hard on her solo career and she’s making great progress.

“She looks great and is training everyday and her solo music is getting a lot of attention from all of the cool blogs, particularly in the US, and she’s being embraced by the fashion world so that’s definitely helping her to stay focused,” the insider added.

White and Salter dated for six years. She was with the stylist for the duration of her time in girl band The Saturdays. It’s just that the English performer is just so into her solo career now. During the International Women’s Day, White posted a photo on Instagram that reads: ‘A girl should be two things: who and what she wants.’

In a separate report, White reportedly received £5,000 by the Department of International Trade’s Music Export Growth Scheme, The Sun reported. The grants are for UK-registered music firms to help promote their artists overseas. Talent manager professor Jonathan Shalit said that the grant is for new artists who need funding and not for previously successful artists who need to flare up their career. Thus, there were issues about White’s grant.
