The queen of nearly everything wedding, Vera Wang, is splitting from her husband of 23 years, Arthur Becker, People reports. The couple announced they were separating on Wednesday after two decades of marriage.

Wang and Becker married in 1989 at New York's Pierre Hotel, WWD reported.

They remain devoted parents to their two daughters, Cecilia and Josephine, Wang's company president, Mario Grauso, said in a statement to WWD.

According to People, Becker was involved with Wang's company, which has interests in fragrances, makeup, mass market, juniors, home goods and even recently a lower cost bridal line in recent years, but he was also involved in his own business ventures.

A friend of Wang's told WWD that the couple will not let this impact the running of the company. They have worked too hard to build it up.

Wang kicked off her career when she started working at Ralph Lauren in 1987 and opened her private salon three years, People said.

The designer famously designed all three of Kim Kardashian's glamorous wedding gowns in 2011, in addition to designer sister Khloe Kardashian Odam's gown in 2009.

Wang did not make a public statement about her divorce on her blog, Vera Unveiled, Twitter or Facebook page, but People is insinuating Vera Wang's Fall 2012 bridal show of black, yet ever-elegant wedding gowns were an omen for her divorce.

Some readers who commented on People's article about Wang's split from her husband said, Sorry to hear the news, but come on Vera. A Black Wedding Dress-would you wear one? I would think a happier color is in order, unless of course you are marrying a Vampire.

Another added, I don't know why they separated, so I'm not judging, but after that much time, it's a sad thing that they don't work their problems out, and remember why they married in the first place. Sometimes there are rough patches and it just seems so easy to part ways. Tough for them and tough for the children.

The black wedding gowns are already out of style -- Wang is featuring an new line of scarlet wedding gowns for Wang's Spring 2013 bridal collection which made their way down the runway in April, the Los Angeles Times reported.
