Video technology company Vidaroo Corp. recently signed a two-year agreement with Emmis New York, operator of flagship stations Hot 97, KISS-FM and RXP-The New York Rock Experience.

Emmis NYC was one of the first to use Vidaroo’s recently released online video platform “Vidaroo Publisher” in a large-company environment. Emmis NYC utilized Vidaroo Publisher as a platform to launch a video production initiative, and to distribute and syndicate video and advertising.

The company’s ability to meet various angles of Emmis NYC’s advertising needs reflects Vidaroo’s potential in the broader market.

“Emmis New York is a cutting edge, global leader in delivering content, their radio brands are the best of modern radio entertainment; the Vidaroo technology has allowed them to showcase their incredible content creation abilities in video branded entertainment, as well as monetize their efforts with our native advertisement platform. Original programming, including world famous interviews with 50 Cent, their very own reality show, ‘The Wizards NYC’ are just some of the examples of how a brand like Emmis which is known for great radio can also become a great force in video,” Mark Argenti, CEO of Vidaroo stated in the press release.

Vidaroo said it is entering the second stage of its Branded Entertainment Initiative, providing the software and the service needed to create a model of efficiency and simplicity to contradict the traditional high costs and complexities of the industry.

“Emmis NYC continues to push the fold of online video by taking advantage of advanced capabilities offered by the Vidaroo Publisher edition including a fully native ad server, content syndication, time of day programming, branded delivery and social capabilities. They bring their original programming alive by targeting content in a creative and branded fashion. Their focus and continued drive to advance Branded Entertainment is surely reflective across their destinations and we look forward to furthering our relationship to the next level,” Micheal Morgan, COO, CTO and director of Vidaroo stated.
