The Serie A season got off to an entertaining start as AC Milan and Lazio combined to scored four first-half goals in a 2-2 result at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Miroslav Klose scored for the Lazio in the 12th minute, in a goal that he might have trapped with his arm. Teammate Djibril Cisse followed it up with a header goal in the 21st minute.

The home side came right back. Milan received goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored off the assist by Antonio Cassano, in the 29th minute, though the play was very close to being called offside. Four mintues later, Cassano evened it up with a header off a corner kick.

Lazio managed only 12 shots in the game, with five on goal, while Milan had 18 shots, with eight directed at goal. Milan had possession for 60 percent of the match.

Gennaro Gattuso exited the match in the 20th minute due to injury, and was replaced by Mark Van Bommel.
