VIDEO Argentina 3-2 Sweden Highlights: Huge First Half Clinches Argentine Win

After 23 minutes and three goals, Argentina was in complete control and went on to beat Sweden 3-2 Wednesday in an international friendly at the Nya Ullevi.

Three minutes in and Swedish defender Mikael Lustig gave Argentina a 1-0 lead with a demoralizing own goal. That lead was quickly vanquished by defender Jonas Olsson’s goal in the 17th minute.

Argentina quickly gathered and responded with goals by forwards Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain. It was Aguero’s first goal of the season during friendly play, equaling the Manchester City star’s total from last year.

Midfielder Rasmus Elm substituted for Kim Kallstrom in the 77th, and the move paid off for Sweden head coach Erik Hamren, as Elm scored in the extra time for a 3-2 score, but by then the game was decided.

Sweden appeared to have conceded the match early with their top player, PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, taken off for Matt Ranegie in the 46th minute.

Sweden was far from the team that beat England 4-2 in their last friendly match back in November. In that match, Ibrahimovic fired off four goals, with three coming in the final 14 minutes of play.
