Queens Park Rangers kept their Premier League chances alive with a well-deserved victory over streaking Arsenal at Loftus Road, 2-1.

The loss snapped Arsenal's seven-game winning streak, and Robin van Persie went his third-straight Premier League match without scoring.

Adel Taarabt got the scoring started in the 22nd minute, when he evaded some questionable marking by Thomas Vermaelen, and then found his way to the edge of the box, and delivered a right-footed shot.

Theo Walcott would level the match 15 minutes later. The winger's first shot hit the post, but Walcott followed the rebound with a hard shot that Patrick Kenny had no chance to save.

The match would stay even until the 66th minute, when Vermaelen slipped, allowing a pass from Jamie Mackey to Samba Diakite, who drilled the shot past a helpless Wojciech Szczesny.

Both clubs had several chances. Arsenal took 13 shots, with six on goal, while Queens Park Rangers took 11 shots with six on target. The Gunners dominated possession by controlling the ball for 68 percent of the match.

Marouane Chamakh, who is the subject to transfer speculation, was subbed into the match in a rather surprising move by Arsene Wenger.
