With Tottenham down a man in the first 17 minutes, Arsenal took advantage for a 5-2 victory Saturday at the Emirates. The Gunners jumped Tottenham in the English Premier League table with the win.

The Spurs Emmanuel Adebayor scored in the 10th for a 1-0 lead, but was issued a red card seven minutes later for a vicious sliding tackle on Santi Cazorla.

Gunner defender Per Mertesacker opened his side's scoring in the 24 th minute, and Arsenal scored four more goals all in front of the Spurs net.

Aresenal easily got past Tottenham's back line and Lukas Podolski fired a goal in the 42nd to the right side of a nearly open net. Carzorla would have his revenge after receiving a perfect low cross from Podolski for a goal in the 60th.

Tottenham's Gareth Bale netted the Spurs only other goal in the 71 st minute, slipping a low shot outside of the box to the left side of the net.
