While most golf fans are focused squarely on Rory McIlroy’s masterful play at the British Open this weekend, some might also be interested in how much NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley has improved his swing.

The video above shows Barkley teeing-off in his first round of the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe on Friday. Now in its 25th year, the celebrity tournament raises money for local and national charities, with the winner of this year’s event taking home $600,000 for a cause.

An 11-time All-Star also known as “The Round Mound of Rebound,” Barkley has taken his fair share of heat for his broken swing, mostly thanks to this knee-knocking, off-balance effort at the same tournament back in 2007.

Fast-forward seven years and Barkley was probably hoping to avoid the same incident. Instead he went with a one-handed strike that looked far smoother than any other shot we’ve seen him take over the years.
