Danny Welbeck proved to be a savior for England with the game-winning strike against Sweden in Friday's Group D match at Kiev's Olympic Stadium, 3-2.

The Manchester United forward gave a fantastic back-heel flick off the assist from Theo Walcott in the 78th minute to put the Three Lions ahead. The shot slipped by helpless goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson, who had previously conceded a goal to Walcott in the 64th minute that probably should have been blocked.

The Welbeck strike was a memorable shot by player who is now making a name for himself with England after a solid season with the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old has filled in admirably in the absence of suspended star forward, and Manchester United teammate, Wayne Rooney. Welbeck's shot might ultimately prove to be the reason the Three Lions advance to the knockout round.

England have four points after two matches, with a date against host Ukraine scheduled for June 19.
