Christopher Nolan has done it again.

A new Batman film starring Christian Bale is expected in 2012, and the trailer is out.

The Dark Knight Rises will be the third installment under Nolan's direction, and will star Anne Hathaway, Robin Williams, and Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, as well as previous cast members Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine, in what will likely be among the highest grossing films of the coming year.

After Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Nolan has taken the comic book super hero to a new level. The last Batman flick grossed an astounding $533 million at the box office in 2009. According to IMDB.com, the budget for the The Dark Knight Rises is $250 million.

Nolan, and his brother Jonathan Nolan, wrote The Dark Knight as well The Dark Knight Rises. The last film Christopher Nolan directed and wrote, Inception, was a major box office success, as well.

In the upcoming Batman film, a main villain for the caped crusader will be Bane, played by Tom Hardy. Hathaway will play Catwoman.
