Liverpool received a much-needed victory on Tuesday at Ewood Park as the 10-man Reds received a late goal from Andy Carroll to defeat Blackburn in a wild Premier League match, 3-2.

Liverpool's third-choice goalkeeper Brad Jones made his Premier League debut when Alexander Doni, who was filling in for Jose Reina, was sent off at about the midway-mark of the first half.

Jones saved ensuing the penalty kick, but would later make a mess out of pass and a catch in the second half. He proceeded to foul Yakubu Ayegbeni on the play, which resulted in a second-half penalty strike in the 61st minute.

Yakubu, who missed the first penalty kick, had also scored in the 36th minute off a header.

The Reds received two first-half goals from Maxi Rodriguez -- one in the 13th minute, and a second in the 16th. But the hero of the night was Carroll, who delivered with a header in the 90th to give Kenny Dalglish's side the sorely needed three points as Liverpool try to salvage their Premier League season.

Statistically, the match was quite even. Liverpool took 16 shots with six on goal, while Blackburn took 15 shots with six on target. Ball possession was nearly identically, as Rovers controlled it for 52 percent of the match.
