Paraguay's defensive style was not enough to slow down Uruguay's intense attack, as Uruguay took home their record 15th Copa America title in a convincing 3-0 victory in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Sunday.

In the opening 10 minutes, Uruguay never stopped pressuring Paraguay and a goal seemed imminent. After a pair of corner kicks that almost led to a goal, Luis Suarez scored in the 12th minute off a left-footed shot that appeared to take a deflection, and then hit the post and found its way into the goal.

The Liverpool forward had plenty of other chances, but his fellow forward Diego Forlan picked up the slack. The former Manchester United star unleashed a rocket shot from the left side of the box in the 42nd minute that Justo Villar had no chance to block.

In the second half, Paraguay took a more offensive approach, and were even able to hit the crossbar. However, they managed only four shots in the entire match.

On an Uruguay counter attack in the 89th minute, Forlan had a one-on-one situation with Villar, and the Athletico Madrid striker finished in fine fashion to put the icing on the cake for Uruguay.

In a tournament that might have otherwise been remembered for the humiliating exits of host nation Argentina, and South American superpower Brazil, Uruguay proved that their 4th place finish in the 2010 World Cup was no fluke.

Uruguay certainly has an elite team, and they proved they had a collection of talent that really knows how to play with each other. Head coach Oscar Tabarez deserves credit for getting the most out of his players in the Final and in the tournament.

Of Uruguay's 11 shots in the match, eight were on goal.
