Sergio Ramos scored the game winner in the first half, as Real Madrid held off Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, 1-0, on Saturday.

It was a key road victory for Los Blancos, as Barcelona won a tight match, as well. Barcelona kept pace by beating Real Sociedad and are seven points out of the lead in La Liga. The two teams will meet at Nou Camp on April 22.

Ramos's header in the 18th minute turned out to be the game winner. Cristiano Ronaldo failed to make a serious impact on the match, and Jose Mourinho chose to sit Raul Albiol, and Raphael Varane. Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Maria Callejon came off the bench in the second half.

Getafe were unbeaten in six league games before the match, but failed to mount a real attack.

Real Madrid took 14 shots with five on goal, while Getafe took five shots with none on goal. Real Madrid has possession for 61 percent of the match.

Real Madrid will host Levante on Feb. 12, while Getafe will travel to Rayo Vallecano.
