Jackass star Ryan Dunn died in car accident on Monday night.

The 34-year-old daredevil drove his 2007 Porsche off the road in suburban Philadelphia, and may have been driving over 100 miles per hour. Zachary Hartwell, a 30-year-old friend of Dunn's and a production assistant on Jackass Number Two, was the passenger, and also died.

According to police, Dunn's jumped a guardrail, flew into a wooded ravine, struck a tree, and burst into flames.

News of Dunn's death sparked a comment and then an apology from famed film critic Roger Ebert, who had first tweeted, Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive.

To begin with, I offer my sympathy to Ryan Dunn's family and friends, Ebert later wrote on his Web site. I mean that sincerely. It is tragic to lose a loved one. I also regret that my tweet about the event was considered cruel. It was not intended as cruel. It was intended as true.

Bam Margera, a cast member on Jackass, responded harshly to Ebert's first Twitter comment. Perez Hilton also went public with a response to Ebert's first Dunn comment.

Dunn posted a photo on Twitter of himself drinking with friends just hours before the crash.
