He's an X Games legend, but now Shaun White finally has a perfect score to his credit.

In the Men's Snowboard SuperPipe finals on Sunday in Aspen, Colo., White won his fifth consecutive gold medal and did it style, with a 100-out-of-100 score.

White has been nursing a left ankle sprain, making the accomplishment al the more impressive. He has waited a long time to win that 100 score, and was noticeably excited to pull off the feat.

It's unreal, White said after his perfect score. I've been wanting that 100 forever. Thank you so much, everybody, tonight. I came here on a mission: I couldn't compete in Slope and it kind of broke me. I didn't know what to do. I was sitting around icing my ankle wondering if I could even ride tonight, and I kind of took out a little bit of that anxiety and anger that I couldn't compete in Slope in the pipe tonight.

By winning the gold medal, White becomes the third Winter X five-peat athlete. Both Nate Holland in snowboardcross, and Tucker Hibbert in snocross, have five gold medals.

Here's a look at White's perfect score performance:
