RTTNews - Monday, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 5.58% year-over-year in May, slower than the 9.23% increase in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.44% in May, faster than the 0.35% rise recorded in the preceding month.

For the January to April period, consumer prices rose 11.59% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the gold price index climbed 13.04% year-on-year in May, larger than the 7.98% growth in the previous month. Month-on-month, gold prices rose 0.61% in May.
