Consumer prices in Vietnam increased 11.25% annually in March, slower than the 14.78% rise in February, a report by the General Statistics Office said Tuesday.

On an annual basis, double-digit rise in prices were seen for food, beverages and tobacco, clothing and footwear, as also household appliances and goods.

Prices of food and foodstuffs increased 17.05%, while those of beverages of cigarettes rose 11.68%. Clothing and footwear prices were up 11.17%, while the price of household appliances and goods increased 11.08%.

Month-on-month, consumer prices fell 0.17% in March, reversing a 1.17% rise in the previous month.
