vikings season 3 spoilers
Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) will find himself on the wrong side of the sword in episode 3 of Season 3 of "Vikings." History Channel

Prepare yourselves, dear warriors: It looks like one of our favorite Nordic fighters won’t survive episode 3 of “Vikings.” According to the chilling promo video for the next Season 3 installment, someone will meet his (or her) brutal demise in “Warrior’s Fate” -- but who?

In the episode 3 trailer, we see Ragnar and his gruesome gang raiding Mercia, attempting to complete their mission of taking back Princess Kwenthrith’s (Amy Bailey) crown. After slaughtering the princess’ uncle, the warriors must defeat her treacherous brother. But it appears they will suffer some casualties of their own while trying to win the bloody battle.

“Here we are under an English sky burying our dead,” Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) angrily tells Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), adding that the deaths are on his hands.

“If you don’t want to fight, then don’t fight,” Ragnar fires back, clearly irritated with his friend.

Floki won’t be the only one to get under the king’s skin in episode 3. The promo video reveals that Ragnar will also face issues with his son.

“I can’t even look at you,” Ragnar furiously tells Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), leaving us to wonder what Bjorn Ironside could have done to upset his father. Maybe it has something to do with what went down on the battlefield. The trailer teases something terrible will happen during the fight, forcing Bjorn to run frantically to someone’s aid.

While Ragnar attempts to steal back Princess Kwenthrith’s title, King Ecbert (Linus Roache) will spend episode 3 visiting the settlement created by Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). According to the synopsis, not everyone will be impressed by her method of sowing. Her development will be criticized by the leading nobles. But will their input influence Ecbert’s feelings for the shieldmaiden?

Lastly, Kattegat will experience terror of its own when “strange and tragic happenings” occur. Siggy (Jessalyn Gilsig) will suspect Harbard (Kevin Durand) is the one responsible for the chaos. However, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) will become more and more fascinated with the mysterious wanderer after he accompanies them in the Great Hall to share his whimsical stories.

Vikings,” Season 3, episode 3, “Warrior’s Fate,” will be shown on History Thursday, March 5, at 10 p.m. EST.
