Vin Diesel is producing a web series titled “The Ropes” based on his earlier life as a bouncer, reports Variety.

Vin Diesel's One Race Films and Fox Digital Entertainment are collaborating on this venture. There will be eighteen seven-minute episodes, the first of which Vin has already written. The series will cast bouncers and some unknown actors to give it an authentic feel.

It is a well known fact that Vin Diesel was a bouncer before he became famous for his testosterone-driven action-filled film roles. But a lesser known fact is that Vin Diesel has written and directed a short film called Multi-Facial - “an existential portrait of a young multi-racial actor” which debuted at Cannes in 1994.

Vin Diesel, whose real name is Mark Sinclair Vincent, also wrote, directed and acted in another full-length film, Strays, very similar to his first film. He got to show this at the Sundance Festival.
The actor is at the moment busy with post-production work on the Fast Five, the latest installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.
