“The Voice” host Carson Daly is mourning the death of his mom, Pattie Daly Caruso, but the outpouring of love and support from his fans is definitely helping him out.

On his Twitter account, Daly wrote a short message thanking his fans for helping him get through a very difficult time in his life. Daly also encouraged everyone to hug the people they love while they still have the chance to do so. According to Entertainment Tonight, Caruso passed away on Sunday after suffering a heart attack at her home in Palm Desert. She was 73.

Caruso was also an accomplished TV personality like her son and has hosted the popular Coachella Valley TV show, “Valley Views,” for 25 years. On Monday, Daly released an official statement announcing his mom’s passing. He also paid tribute to her life and legacy.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, grandmother, Pattie Daly Caruso. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17th, 2017. Kiki, as she was known to her grandchildren and many others, touched so many lives with her kindness, her giant spirit and her love of life. She will be terribly missed by her family and the world, but her spark will shine for eternity,” he wrote.

Caruso is survived by her husband, Richard Caruso, two children and five grandchildren.

Meanwhile, a memorial mass for Caruso will take place in Palm Desert on Saturday, Sept. 23. The gathering will be open to the public. A spokesperson for Kiner Communications told The Desert Sun that a lot of people are expected to attend Caruso’s memorial mass. “A large turnout is expected for the service so it is recommended that elderly and individuals who have mobility challenges arrive early,” the rep said.

Caruso’s celebration of life will be conducted by Pastor Howard A Lincoln at the Sacred Heart Church. Lincoln was Caruso’s personal priest, and he was also featured in multiple episodes of “Valley Views.” In the show, Caruso interviewed politicians like President Donald Trump and celebrities like Jack Jones and Pat Boone.

In lieu of flowers, Daly’s family is requesting for a donation to the Sacred Heart Church.
