Volkswagen GA (FRA:VOW) is recalling about 2.6 million vehicles worldwide, including 1.6 million cars, pickups and SUVs due to gearbox problems; 800,000 Tiguan compact SUVs to fix lighting issues; and 239,000 Amarok trucks to plug fuel leaks. A large number of the affected cars are in China.

The world’s third-largest automaker said Thursday the approximately 1.6 million recalled cars need to have the synthetic oil used in their seven-speed gearboxes replaced with mineral oil to avert electrical malfunctions, according to Bloomberg.

VW said Thursday it would recall the Tiguans assembled between early 2008 and the middle of 2010 to fix lighting problems, according to Reuters. China said 207,778 of these vehicles, one of VW’s hottest sellers, will be recalled from the local market. The Amaroks that are being recalled to fix fuel leaks were manufactured between 2010 and 2013.
