The Walking Dead
"The Walking Dead" character Morgan (Lennie James) built a trap town in Season 3 of the hit AMC series. Now, that real-life town is up for sale in Grantville, GA. AMC

If you’re a super fan of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and you happen to have almost $700,000 lying around, this could be your lucky day. A section of Grantville, Georgia, which has been used as a setting in the show, has been put up for sale on eBay.

Fans of the show will recognize the stretch of town as the place Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) visited in the Season 3 episode “Clear.” While there, they discovered that Rick's old friend, Morgan (Lennie James) from the series premiere, was alive and…not so well. He lost his son to his walker wife, and holed himself up in a building with a wide range of weapons. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the stretch of land for sale in Grantville comes with the bevy of traps and the elaborate pulley system that the character built to avoid getting eaten by flesh-hungry zombies.

The current owner of the property, which includes nine buildings on approximately 20,000 to 25,000 square feet of land, is former mayor Jim Sells. According to USA Today, he bought the property out of foreclosure during the recession and is now hoping to give the land over to someone that will be able to develop it into something profitable for the town again.

“With the economy picking up, we feel it’s just a good time to sell downtown to someone who has a long-term vision for the city,” Sells told The Times Herald of Newnan, Georgia. “We need someone with the expertise to develop this area commercially.”

The property is available on the popular auction website for a buyout price of $680,000 but Sells says that he’s open to other offers. Above all else, he simply wants someone who can make the area thrive once again. The real estate includes retail areas, loft apartments, a bar or pub, restaurants, a pharmacy and office space. However, since the recession, the area has been getting unusual amounts of business from the film industry.

"Our main industry right now is 'Walking Dead' tourists," Sells told USA Today. "We have people coming from all over the world because of 'The Walking Dead.' That's paying the bills downtown."

A group in the town uses a Facebook page to organize walking tours of the film location from "The Walking Dead." Those interested can get a look at the area used for Morgan's trap town, as well as more real-life spots that were used as backdrops for the AMC series.

According to the property’s listing on eBay, “The Walking Dead” won’t be the last camera crew to film in the area. Three new movies including a sequel to “The Ring,” have signed on to film in parts of Grantville. One of the movies allegedly stars “two very well known actors.”
