Filming for season 4 of “The Walking Dead” was temporarily halted on Friday due to an injury on the Georgia set. Rumors of a major accident began circulating on Twitter and Facebook over the weekend as fans visiting the area reported that someone was airlifted from the filming location in Senoia.

Atlanta's 11Alive News reported Wednesday that a production member was involved in the accident and was subsequently airlifted to the hospital. A spokesperson for the AMC series would not say what occurred, but confirmed to 11Alive News that the production member’s injuries were not life-threatening.

While the name of the injured party was not released by AMC, a photo of a reported background extra is making its rounds online. The supposed extra in question is 20-year-old Zane Orr. On Tuesday, Orr tweeted a photo of himself in a hospital bed with a “Walking Dead” blanket draped over his legs. “Walking Dead” star Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) can be seen smiling next to him.

“The beautiful @LaurenCohan came to visit me on Sunday in the hospital, such a good heart and nice person,” he posted along with the photo.

As mentioned, Zane Orr has not been confirmed as the injured production member. But he's a definite fan of the zombie series, and Cohan isn’t the first “Walking Dead” star he has met. Orr posted a photo of himself with IronE Singleton from 2011, explaining on social media that the actor who played T-Dog stopped by his job.

Filming for “The Walking Dead” has since resumed, and the spokesperson doesn’t believe that the accident will have an impact on air dates for season 4.

The new season of “The Walking Dead” is set to premiere on AMC on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT.
