The mid-season finale of "The Walking Dead" will air on AMC on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. Gene Page/AMC

Ready for the mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead”? Neither are we, but the episode is bound to leave viewers speechless … and more than likely shedding a few tears over the deaths of fan-favorite characters. Episode 8 is set to air on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 9 p.m., and we’ve got everything you need to know about “Too Far Gone.”

According to a leaked synopsis for the mid-season finale, it appears as if the Governor will once again be picking a fight with Rick’s crew at the prison: “After things begin to calm at the prison, Rick and the group face imminent danger.”

While the episode 8 plot description may leave fans of the AMC show begging for more information, the promos and sneak peek videos for “Too Far Gone” reveal a lot juicier scoop on what to expect.

The Governor Is Back To His Old Tricks

“They’ve got walls, fences, peace of mind,” the Governor tells his new group of survivors in the promo video. “There’s nothing between us and them … if we’re willing to take it from them.”

Dun dun dunnnnnn!

After his brutal slaying of Martinez and Pete in episode 7, it looks as if the Governor has completely dropped his Brian persona and is willing to do ANYTHING to keep his new family safe. But will the group he is now in charge of follow him blindly? Or will he resort to telling them lies like he did at Woodbury?

A Kidnapping?

Thanks to a sneak peek it appears as if the Governor is going to pull a Woodbury and lie about the prison.

“The people in this prison … not all of them are bad,” the Governor tells his band of survivors. “But most of them – thieves, murderers – why should people like that have peace of mind when we’re burying our own just about every day. These people … they mutilated me, burned my camp, killed my daughter.” “You saw me,” he says turning to Tara. “I tried to die. Because I couldn’t accept that you couldn’t live in this world without getting blood on your hands. But I found you people and I don’t want to die, I don’t want you to die. And we need to move … now. They’re going to realize their people are gone and they’re going to start getting ready for what’s next. We need to surprise them, scare them … and we will win.” So, who does the Governor have captured? Is it Michonne and Hershel, who he saw in the woods at the end of episode 7? Perhaps Carol had the misfortune of traveling past the camp? Or maybe the person he kidnapped is completely innocent?

The Prison Fights Back

The Governor will be making his presence known at the prison fence in episode 8, but Rick’s not going to surrender so easy. “We’re not leaving,” he tells the Governor, who is perched on top of a tank.

Quick clips show that everyone at the prison is locked and loaded to fight – even Hershel, Beth and Carl.

Megan’s Discovery

In a sneak peek look at “Too Far Gone,” Lily can be seen eyeing a walker as it somehow makes its way across a wide (and seemingly shallow) river. But as Lily’s focus remains on the looming threat, she’s pulling a Lori and ignoring her young daughter, Megan.

“Can you please help me dig,” Megan begs of her mother as she gets a grip on what looks like a metal door. “Mommy it’s too heavy.”

Since no one manages to catch a break in the zombie apocalypse, we’d have to say that Megan is about to uncover something grisly – like possibly some zombies. OR it’s possible that underneath that dirt patch is enough weapons for the Governor’s crew to have a fighting chance against Rick at the prison.

“All Will Fight … Some Will Fall”

The promo video for episode 8 warns that “all will fight” in the Governor’s war against the prison … and that “some will fall.” “Walking Dead” fans will have to wait to see who or even how many beloved characters will die while fighting for their safety at the prison.

Episode 8, “Too Far Gone,” will air on AMC on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 9 p.m. What do you think will happen on the mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead”? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
