The new season of “The Walking Dead” has yet to begin, but Daryl’s Norman Reedus is already talking about the mid-season four finale. And guess what? It’s "mind-blowing.”

Reedus dodged season four questions while at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago a couple weeks ago, but he did dish about filming status.

“I will say that we just wrapped the midseason finale last night of ‘The Walking Dead,’ mind-blowing. Minds are going to blow up. It’s so crazy. It’s so good," he said. "We thought last season was real good. This season’s crazy good. It’s nuts, you’ll love it.”

“The Walking Dead” has never disappointed with its midseason finales. In season three, “Made To Suffer” featured a shootout between the prison group and Woodbury when Rick’s crew went in to rescue Maggie and Glenn. Michonne killed the Governor’s daughter, Penny, and stabbed him in the eye with a shard of glass before helping to rescue Maggie and Glenn. But what the group didn’t realize is that Daryl ended up getting captured in their rescue attempt. The episode ended with Daryl coming face-to-face with his brother, Merle, and being ordered to fight to the death by a now one-eyed Governor.

Besides Penny and minor prison character Oscar, the midseason finale in season three didn’t feature jaw-dropping deaths. But what about the season four midseason finale?

ComicBook.com noted that Reedus denied all rumors currently circulating about major deaths. “It’s the ‘Walking Dead,’” he explained to fans at the convention. “You know what I’m saying? Everyone likes to spread rumors. You guys don’t know anything that’s going on. I guarantee. I read them all.”

Rumors of a major death began in the beginning of August, when Reedus posted some photos of what appeared to be dinner with some cast members. The photos showed the actor with former co-stars whose characters bit the dust: Jon Bernthal (Shane) and Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori).

Fans immediately began to speculate that the photo, posted July 23 (before shooting for the midseason finale), was from one of the show's famous “death dinners.” The cast has a tradition of holding a “death dinner” every time a character gets killed off as a way for the cast and crew to say goodbye.

“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC for its fourth season on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 9 p.m. Will you be tuning in? What do you think will happen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
