First look at Daryl in season 4 episode 10 of "The Walking Dead." Gene Page/ AMC

“The Walking Dead” returned to AMC on Sunday, Feb. 9, with its midseason premiere, and the drama will continue on Sunday, Feb. 16. Episode 9 followed Rick, Carl and Michonne after the Governor’s attack on the prison, and episode 10 will give viewers a look at how Daryl and Beth are doing after the fall of their safe haven and the death of Hershel.

As we previously reported, episode 10, “Inmates,” will find the separated group searching for “stability and safety” … but with many obstacles in the way. And thanks to a freshly released sneak-peek video, we know that a main obstacle will be the feeling of defeat.

The video clip from “Inmates” gives “Walking Dead” fans a first look at Daryl and Beth after fleeing the prison -- and while the actual content might not be crazy, it will still be a shocker to viewers. In bad situations, Daryl tends to be the strong and reliable one. But that appears to be far from the case in the sneak peek.

“We should do something,” Beth tells her companion as they sit by a fire in a field. When Daryl fails to respond, Beth repeats herself … but Daryl is in his own universe.

“We aren’t the only survivors,” Beth continues. “We can’t be. Rick, Michonne -- they can be out here. Maggie and Glenn could have made it out of A Block.”

Daryl briefly makes eye contact with Hershel’s daughter before staring at the fire again. “They could have,” she tries to reinforce when Daryl stays silent. “You’re a tracker. You can track. Come on. The sun will be up soon if we head out now we can …”

Realizing that Daryl’s not going to move, Beth grabs her knife and decides to head out on her own. “Fine,” she tells him before walking away. “If you won’t track I will.” Episode 10 of “The Walking Dead” will air on AMC on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 9 p.m. What do you think will happen with Beth and Daryl in “Inmates”?
