Walking Dead
Michonne will have two more "pets" when "The Walking Dead" returns. AMC

Clear your schedule on Sunday night. “The Walking Dead” returns to AMC to finish up the second half of their fourth season at 9 p.m. on Feb. 9.

The first half was full of many twists, turns and major deaths. Survivors were pushed to their limits; some became heroes and others struggled with their inner demons. But no matter how the first half of season 4 went, “The Walking Dead” will be taking fans on a whole new journey in the remaining eight episodes.

So, what can fans expect in the midseason premiere? As we previously reported, episode 9 will be called “After” and find the former prison survivors struggling with life in the outside world. A leaked synopsis revealed the following: “As Rick deals with old wounds, members of the prison have to come to terms with their new environment and ask themselves if survival alone is enough.”

Thanks to photos and promo videos of the upcoming episode we know that a badly beat up Rick (physically and mentally) and Carl will be seeking shelter in an abandoned home. And while Rick was always the leader, it appears as if it’ll be up to Carl to keep the pair of them alive. Meanwhile, Michonne will resort to her old method of survival – armless and mouth-less zombie guards; and Glenn will find himself in a grave situation when he’s left right above a hoard of hungry walkers.

Episode 9 will start to wrap up old problems and introduce new ones. Check out some more scoop on the second half of “The Walking Dead’s” fourth season below:

Baby Judith

Is Baby Judith dead? Or do Lizzie and the other prison kids have Rick’s daughter? Fans hoping for an immediate answer are going to be disappointed. “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman told the Hollywood Reporter that “there will be answers, but I don’t know if they’re going to come necessarily soon.”

Daryl

Can’t get enough Daryl? Well you’re in luck. Norman Reedus dished to Entertainment Weekly that a “big Daryl episode will be coming up” in the second half of the season.

“It was such a grueling, hard shoot, but it came out really well,” Reedus explained. “There’s a couple other episodes based around other characters who do some of the best work you’ve seen them do. I can’t wait for people to see the back eight.”

Carol

Carol was thrown out of the prison by Rick after she admitted to murdering Karen and David. Rick left Carol with a car, weapons and supplies, and fans still believe she’s alive. But will she pop up in the last eight episodes? Kirkman explained to the Hollywood Reporter that it’s “entirely possible” since the prison characters are “presumably in the same area.”

Michonne

In an episode in the first half of season 4, viewers finally witnessed Michonne in a moment of weakness. The katana wielding survivor usually puts on a strong front, but a moment holding baby Judith left Michonne with tears in her eyes. Fans have been patiently waiting to hear her backstory, and they’ll get a “glimpse” of it in the midseason premiere.

Robert Kirkman revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the episode will dig more into her past and that he thinks viewers are going to be “pretty shocked where we’ve gone with those things.”
