AMC released a new teaser video for "The Walking Dead" ahead of its Season 5 premiere on Oct. 12. AMC

Brace yourselves, “Walking Dead” fans. Long gone are the easy days of living behind a fence at the prison. The hit AMC series is gearing up for its most jaw-dropping and grisly season to date.

The Season 5 premiere is still a couple months away, but the network knows just want fans need to make it through. AMC released a brand new teaser trailer to give viewers a bite of the drama to come for Rick, Daryl, Michonne and the rest of the survivors.

Fans shouldn’t be disappointed at the 10 second run time for the teaser. The video is packed with scenes from Season 5 and a haunting quote that will stay with you until the Oct. 12 premiere: “We don’t know what’s coming next.”

The new video kicks off with a hazy room that’s being entered by people with gas masks – more than likely the termites coming for Rick’s group inside the train car. With lights flickering the video moves to Rick, who has his signature no nonsense, “they’re screwing with the wrong people,” look on his face. Cutting back briefly to the men in gas masks, viewers then get to see Daryl, who appears to be ready for anything in order to survive.

After that a woman – possibly Sasha – voices, “We don’t know what’s coming next.” And as she speaks, the video displays the disturbing scene of what looks like someone hacking into a body on the table ... further fueling the Terminus cannibal theories.

As we previously reported, Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will be fully exploring the story of Terminus – from the residents, to its history and what exactly their motives are. However the survivors won’t be at the “sanctuary” the entire season. Thanks to Eugene and his supposed knowledge of the origins of the outbreak, it appears like the Terminus residents might team up with Rick’s crew to bring Eugene to Washington D.C.

Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to the introduction of a new character, Father Gabriel, as Beth’s kidnapping plot line is further explored. Viewers will also be able to see how Carol, Tyreese and baby Judith manage to reunite with their former group members.

“The Walking Dead” Season 5 will premiere on AMC on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. EDT. Let us know your thoughts on the new teaser video.
