Telltale Games’ episodic graphic adventure “The Walking Dead: Season One” is coming to the eighth-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 14. The zombie survival series will launch just in time for Halloween, with season two launching one week later on Oct. 21. “The Walking Dead: Season Two” will also be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the same date.

Seasons one and two of the game will launch in Europe on Oct. 24. A version for the handheld PlayStation Vita will launch on Nov. 4.

The game series will also return for a third season, Telltale Games confirmed earlier this month.

Season two consists of five episodes, “All that Remains,” “A House Divided,” “In Harm’s Way,” “Amid the Ruins” and “No Going Back.”

Episodes were originally released between Dec. 2013 and Aug. 2014, with season one launching between April and Nov. 2012.

The video game series is based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series and the AMC television show of the same name. The comic book, game franchise and television show are all set in a post-apocalyptic world after a zombie invasion, where a group of survivors must band together to survive.

“The Walking Dead” game series has received critically acclaimed, with many reviewers praising the character development and emotional tone of the game.

More than one million unique players have purchased at least one episode from the series, with more than 8.5 million episodes sold by the end of 2012. To date, the first two seasons have sold more than 28 million episodes.
