"The Walking Dead"
What are you going to watch until the "Walking Dead" returns with season three in October? AMC

Last Sunday's season finale of the Walking Dead only left viewers wanting some more bloody, brain-eating zombies. Unfortunately the third season of AMC's hit series won't be returning until October. So what can you watch to pass the time until we see more Michonne and the mysterious prison?

Take a look at these frighteningly good shows that are currently on air.

Ugly Americans

Comedy Central's animated horror-comedy series is currently in its second season. The show follows social worker Mark Lilly as he helps new citizens, human and other, try to adapt to the Big Apple. Besides the interesting yet hectic job, Mark Lilly also has a zombie roommate and a demon ex-girlfriend. The hilariously haunting comedy airs Wednesday nights at 10:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.

The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries might be more teen romance than horror, but boy can that blood spill. This series in it's third season has killed off almost as many people as the Walking Dead have. While no zombies have yet to make it on screen, the town of Mystic Falls does seem to have a problem with vampires, witches and werewolves. The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. on the CW.

Awake

If you love suspense then definitely check out NBC's new series Awake. The series is about a detective who was in a serious car accident with his wife and son. After the crash he wakes up in two realities, one where his wife died, and one where his son died. The only problem is that he can't figure out which of the two is a reality. Awake airs at 10 p.m. on Thursday night on NBC.

Once Upon A Time

Being thrown into another form of reality is one of the reasons why the Walking Dead is so successful. Once Upon A Time accomplishes the same thing. In the ABC show, fairytale characters are cursed and sent to the real world. The only problem is that their memories have been wiped clean, and no one remembers who they were. The show is currently in its first season, and is right now trying to figure out who murdered a character, and cut out their heart. Once Upon A Time airs on Sunday nights on ABC at 8 p.m.

Face Off

Love the Walking Dead for their costumes and make up? SyFy's reality show Face Off is a definite show to check out then. Each week contestants are challenged to create some sort of monster, and the results can be surprisingly gruesome. New episodes of the show return this summer on SyFy.

Being Human

Originally a British series, Being Human has worked its way onto the SyFy network. The series is about three 20-something roomates, one a ghost, one a vampire and the other a werewolf. Check out the show to see if they can keep their secrets from the world. Episodes of Being Human airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. on SyFy.
