Wall St climbs on oil, window dressing
Stocks rose on Monday as higher oil prices lifted shares of energy companies and fund managers snapped up recent winners to embellish their portfolios a day before the close of the second quarter.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> rose 90.99 points, or 1.08 percent, to close unofficially at 8,529.38. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> added 8.33 points, or 0.91 percent, to end unofficially at 927.23. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 5.84 points, or 0.32 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,844.06.
