U.S. stocks fell further on Monday with the Nasdaq hitting a fresh six-year intraday low as the sell-off in big-cap tech shares accelerated.

* In a choppy session, the Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> fell 95.58 points, or 1.44 percent, to 6,531.36. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> lost 9.04 points, or 1.32 percent, to 674.34. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dropped 25.82 points, or 2.00 percent, to 1,268.03.
