Wall Street adds gains; Dow up more than 1 percent

Stocks added further gains in late afternoon trading on Monday, sending the Dow Jones industrial average up more than 1 percent.

The Dow <.DJI> was up 119.78 points, or 1.26 percent, at 9,607.45. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 15.85 points, or 1.55 percent, at 1,041.06. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 23.14 points, or 1.13 percent, at 2,071.25.
