(REUTERS) -- Stocks bounced back at the open Wednesday after five days of losses on the S&P 500 that brought the benchmark index down more than 4 percent.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> rose 59.19 points, or 0.47 percent, at 12,775.12. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 7.89 points, or 0.58 percent, at 1,366.48. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> climbed 28.12 points, or 0.94 percent, at 3,019.34.
